Crikey!! It's Zoo Day!

Up early again as we enjoyed our coffee on the upper deck and planned our day… we will eat up some of our yogurt and make toast here before heading to the Zoo.

With our car-play map cutting in and out we managed to find the entrance :-) Seems the Bluetooth receiver in the car is a bit spotty.... usually when we really need the data of course!
Our route today... easy actually.
The parking lot was already filling up when we arrived but the lineup for entry went very quick. We plotted out our path around the facility as some backtracking may be required.

Kelly had two bucket list items on her list so off we went to find Koala's... and did we ever! She found a huge nursery that had lots of babies clinging to their moms. She face-timed with Lauren so Harper could see them live. All very good and Kelly was very happy to share the experience.

Baby is cuddled in!

Next was her infatuation with Kangaroos... she got up close and personal and was amazed at how soft the fur was.  Another face-time with Harper!

We wandered the various display and were amazed at the overall quality of the Zoo. The habitat for each type of animal was huge and the attention to detail was second to none. Overall it was so clean... there was not a bit of litter anywhere.

And now more Koala pictures..... :-)

Baby cuddled in

This one is asleep in this position.

Kelly gets to pet one... in her glory!

They sleep 18-20 hrs a day!

At the animal hospital... this one was hit by a car but was clearly recovering nicely!

Live check up of a newly arriving patient (Koala)

The hospital tour was a highlight for Kelly as I could tell she could spend the day in there. Not sure what was going on but I suspect they were doing an initial assessment for general health and any possible injuries to this Koala. Blood test & ultrasound etc.

We headed home and arrived just after 3 pm. A beverage stop at the Wharf beer/wine store and we retired to the deck loungers. Following this much needed "rest", Kelly proceeded to beat me in another game of Five Crowns :-(

Off to dinner at The Dock and then back home to relax.... lots of steps today (12,000) so we are both beat.

Tomorrow is grocery shopping day as we are planning our first self cooked meal!
